High speed chases after Sonic's stars were somehow more exciting than Mario's clumsy mushrooms, even tough looking back now, it's hard to decide which was the ultimate 16-bit champ. They both rocked!

The easy going remote that successfully deceived millions of casual gamers reconfirmed Nintendo's position as a market leader in creating something with little. Everybody and their grandma had one, and everybody could join in on a cheerful game of Wii Sports without having to understand anything about intricate hardcore game mechanics. Luckily for us gamers, it also came with a couple of must-play highlights---and even came with retro channels that allowed you to legally emulate older generations of Mario.
